By default, all EU clients in MIC 2.0 and MIC Lite have access to Auth Diagnostics. Clients can opt-out if wanted. Users can access Auth Diagnostics via Mastercard Principal Members Service homepage.
Issuers with more than 75,000 MA processed transactions in last 12 months can request for subscription to this product.
Auth Diagnostics data is from data warehouse, so it shares the same source data with MIC.
- At least 13 months of data is included in Auth Diagnostics, so users can compare the current month data year over year, and see the trend for past 12 months.
- First available monthly report is May 2024.
It is refreshed monthly by 10th of the next month, and use the same data sources as 2.0 and Lite.
Raw auth transactions are all auth transactions without deduplication process. Cleansed auth transactions remove duplicated declines by picking the 1st declined transaction if there're multiple declined transactions on the same card, same merchant, same amount, same transaction date (non-recurring payment) or same transaction month (recurring payment)
Both 2.0 and Lite Auth standard dashboards are showing Auth transaction after removing duplicated declines, but it can still be slightly different than Auth Diagnostics cleansed Auth transactions. Auth Diagnostics logic is more accurate to remove duplicates, and MIC will be updated with the same dedupe logic as Auth Diagnostics.
MIC logic: pick the 1st declined transaction if there're multiple identical declined transactions on same card, same MCC, same transaction date within 10 mins
Auth Diagnostics logic: picking the 1st declined transaction if there're multiple identical declined transactions on the same card, same merchant, same amount, same transaction date (non-recurring payment) or same transaction month (recurring payment)
The Mastercard Automatic Billing Updater (ABU) program helps to reduce preventable card-not-present declines caused by changes to stored payment account credentials.
ABU can extend the life of credential-on-file and recurring payment arrangements by helping to secure these ongoing, revenue-generating relationships, all while helping to lock in revenue, reduce processing costs, maintain service continuity, and strengthen cardholder satisfaction.
ABU Category | Recommendation |
Expired accounts | It means that the expired date has been passed for cards. Issuers should send new expired date information, and merchants should use that to avoid declines. |
Replacement card | It means that the cards have been replaced, so expired date and CVV may have changed. Issuers should send updated information, and merchants should use that to avoid declines. |
Not currently. It is planned for future enhancement.
